HB 1672 Summary

• Requires health benefit plans that provide prescription drug coverage to notify enrollees in writing or electronically at least 60 days before removing drugs from their formulary, excluding generic substitutions.

• Applies only to enrollees currently taking a prescription drug that would be deleted from the plan's formulary.

• Does not apply to drugs subject to new safety warnings or Federal Drug Administration safety recalls as determined by the plan's therapeutics committee.

• Defines "health benefit plan" according to subsection C of Section 6060.4 of Title 36 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Effective date: November 1, 2013.
