HB 1755 Summary

• Exempts students who achieve a high enough ACT score from taking certain end-of-instruction criterion-referenced tests, as long as their ACT score equals or exceeds the highest ACT admission score set for research institutions in the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education

• Deems students with ACT composite scores at or above the specified threshold as having satisfactorily demonstrated mastery of state academic content standards required for a standard diploma

• Allows subject-specific ACT scores (not just composite scores) that meet the threshold to exempt students from corresponding end-of-instruction tests in English, mathematics, science, and social studies

• Makes the emergency-declared changes effective July 1, 2013
