HB 1778 Summary

• Allows individuals with a Wildlife Conservation Passport or other qualifying documentation to engage in nonwildlife activities on Oklahoma Wildlife Management Areas during hunting seasons.

• Defines "nonwildlife activities" to include picnicking, hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding.

• Requires individuals to comply with fluorescent orange color clothing requirements found in Section 5-205 of Title 29 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Effective date: July 1, 2013, with an emergency declaration allowing immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
