HB 1921 Summary

• Amends 11 O.S. 2011, Section 55-103 to regulate municipal ordinances governing amateur radio antennas and support structures.

• Requires municipal ordinances to comply with federal regulations (47 C.F.R., Section 97.15(b)) and allow amateur radio antenna or support structures at heights and dimensions sufficient to reasonably accommodate amateur radio service communications.

• Mandates that municipal regulations constitute only the minimum practicable regulation necessary to accomplish the intent of the statute.

• Requires municipalities denying antenna installation applications to state reasons for denial and bear the burden of proving on appeal that their actions are consistent with this section.

• Effective November 1, 2013.
