HB 2071 Summary

• Amends 21 O.S. 2011, Section 1277 regarding where handgun license holders can carry firearms

• Deletes the prohibition against carrying handguns at meetings of city, town, county, state or federal officials, school board members, and legislative members

• Maintains prohibitions on carrying handguns in government buildings, prisons, elementary/secondary schools, professional sporting events, pari-mutuel wagering locations, and other places specifically prohibited by law

• Allows handgun license holders to carry in vehicle parking areas at government buildings, sporting venues, and designated parks/recreational areas

• Effective date: November 1, 2013
