HB 2116 Summary

• Amends 26 O.S. 2011, Section 7-114 concerning voter identification requirements at polling places

• Removes the exception allowing voter identification cards issued by county election boards to serve as proof of identity without meeting photograph and expiration date requirements

• Requires all proof of identity documents to satisfy four criteria: name conformity, photograph, valid expiration date (or indefinite validity for persons 65+), and issuance by U.S., Oklahoma, or federally recognized Indian tribe/nation

• Allows voters without proof of identity to sign an oath statement and cast a provisional ballot instead

• Effective July 1, 2013, with emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval
