HB 2133 Summary

• Amends 70 O.S. 2011, Section 3218.8 regarding establishment of tuition and mandatory fees at Oklahoma higher education institutions

• Adds annual tuition increase cap limiting increases to the lesser of 3% or the Consumer Price Index inflation rate for the most recent complete year

• Maintains existing requirements that comprehensive universities' resident tuition remain below Big Twelve peer institutions and nonresident tuition remain below 105% of Big Twelve averages

• Maintains existing requirements that regional universities and two-year colleges' tuition remain below comparable institutions in adjacent states

• Effective July 1, 2013, with emergency clause for immediate implementation
