HB 2267 Summary

• Establishes a full waiver of resident tuition and mandatory fees for dependents and spouses of military personnel who served in combat zones after the bill's effective date.

• Eligible students must be Oklahoma residents, not yet hold a baccalaureate or graduate degree, and meet all admission and retention requirements of Oklahoma State System of Higher Education institutions.

• Covers programs leading to associate or baccalaureate degrees with minimum enrollment of 6 credit hours per semester (3 hours in summer); excludes certificates, continuing education, and career technology courses.

• Limits benefit to maximum of 18 credit hours per semester for up to 6 years from date of first application.

• Effective July 1, 2013, with emergency clause allowing immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
