HB2275 Summary

• Amends 40 O.S. 2011, Section 165.2 to add school district employees to the list of workers who may be paid once per calendar month instead of twice per month.

• School district employees join state, county, and municipal employees in being allowed monthly payment schedules while private sector employees continue to require bi-weekly or more frequent payment.

• Creates new law codified as 70 O.S. Section 6-106.3 allowing school districts to pay support employee salaries and benefits on a calendar month basis for twelve months, similar to teacher payment methods.

• Maintains existing wage payment requirements regarding itemized wage statements, payment methods, and employer liability for bounced checks.

• Effective date: November 1, 2013.
