HJR 1023 Summary

• Reestablishes the Oklahoma Juvenile Justice Reform Committee consisting of 21 members appointed by various state officials, judges, district attorneys, and legislative leaders.

• Directs the Committee to conduct a comprehensive study of Oklahoma's juvenile justice system and Title 10A of the Oklahoma Statutes, and to develop recommended revisions and reforms.

• Requires all state departments and agencies to cooperate with the Committee by providing information, records, and reports upon request.

• Mandates the Committee submit its final report and recommendations to legislative leadership by January 1, 2014, with the Committee terminating on May 30, 2014.

• Provides that members receive no salary but are reimbursed for travel expenses, and allows the Committee to contract with consultants as funds permit.
