Captain Rodrick "Pete" Lee Norwood, Jr. was born December 16, 1970, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and died March 30, 2013, at age 42 from a sudden illness.

Graduated from Anadarko High School in 1989 and attended the University of Oklahoma as a defensive back for the Oklahoma Sooners football team.

Joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, graduating from the 48th Academy in 1995, and held various positions including Troop Commander of Troop R (Oklahoma Capitol Section) and Legislative Liaison at the Oklahoma State Capitol starting in February 2012.

The Oklahoma House of Representatives expresses profound sorrow at his death and extends deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and friends.

Directs distribution of the resolution to his wife Elizabeth Norwood, his sons Isaiah and Elijah Norwood, his daughter Allison Qualls, and to Michael C. Thompson, Commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety.
