Charles Banks Wilson, born August 6, 1918 in Springdale, Arkansas, was an acclaimed painter, printmaker, teacher, and illustrator whose work was displayed in more than 200 museums worldwide.

Wilson's artwork is featured in major institutions including the Metropolitan Museum in New York City, the Library of Congress, the Corcoran Gallery, the Smithsonian, and the Oklahoma State Capitol, with life-size portraits of Will Rogers, Sequoyah, Carl Albert, and Senator Robert Kerr displayed at the Capitol.

Wilson established the Art Department at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and received numerous honors during his lifetime, including membership in the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, designation as an Oklahoma Treasure by the Oklahoma Arts Council, and the Oklahoma Governor's Art Award.

Wilson passed away on May 2, 2013, at age 94, and the Oklahoma House of Representatives expressed profound sorrow over his death and extended condolences to his family and friends.
