Enrolled Senate Bill 101 Summary

• Creates a Task Force on State Services for Adults with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism to continue until December 31, 2013, subject to the Oklahoma Sunset Law.

• Task Force membership includes six members: the Director of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, State Commissioner of Health, Director of Human Services, Director of Health Care Authority, and two parents/guardians/legal representatives of adults with Asperger's Syndrome (appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and Speaker of the House).

• Appointments must be made by August 1, 2013; members serve at the pleasure of their appointing authority; vacancies filled by the original appointing authority.

• Task Force shall meet monthly with a majority constituting a quorum; members receive no compensation but are reimbursed for actual and necessary travel expenses according to the State Travel Reimbursement Act.

• Task Force shall study the needs of adults with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism in Oklahoma, current available services, and make recommendations to the Legislature; the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services shall provide staff assistance; bill becomes effective July 1, 2013.
