Senate Bill 1066 Summary

• Amends 51 O.S. 2011, Section 152 to update the definition of "Claim" in The Governmental Tort Claims Act by replacing reference to "this act" with "The Governmental Tort Claims Act"

• Adds new subsection (s) to the definition of "Political subdivision" to include private persons or entities opening property or facilities for functions authorized by school districts (including technology center school districts) or public colleges and universities

• Expands coverage under The Governmental Tort Claims Act to apply to private property owners who open their facilities for school district or higher education institution authorized activities

• Takes effect November 1, 2013
