Redefines "concealed handgun" as a pistol whose presence is not openly discernible to ordinary observation, replacing the previous definition that specified carrying hidden from view on person, in purse, or vehicle

Allows off-duty peace officers (both full-time and reserve) to carry authorized weapons either concealed or unconcealed, removing the previous requirement to keep weapons concealed from view

Authorizes sheriffs to issue temporary handgun licenses for up to 6 months to individuals granted permanent victim's protective orders under the Protection from Domestic Abuse Act, at no cost

Permits private property owners, employers, tenants, and places of worship to prohibit concealed or unconcealed firearms on their property by posting signs; violators with valid licenses may be denied entry or removed, with a citation up to $250 for refusal to leave

Grants immunity from liability to property owners, businesses, and places of worship for decisions allowing or prohibiting weapons on their property, except for gross negligence or willful misconduct; Workers' Compensation claims remain unaffected
