Senate Bill 311 - Summary

• Modifies the absentee ballot request deadline from Wednesday to Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. preceding an election.

• Changes in-person absentee voting days from Friday and Monday to Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday immediately preceding any election.

• Maintains in-person absentee voting hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday preceding state or federal elections.

• Preserves existing voter identity verification requirements and provisional ballot procedures for voters unable to provide proof of identity.

• Takes effect November 1, 2013.
