SB385 Summary

• Creates the Oklahoma Charter School Facilities Funding Task Force, authorized to exist until July 1, 2014, to examine and recommend funding proposals for charter school facilities in Oklahoma.

• Establishes a nine-member task force composed of the Secretary of Education (chair), three appointees each from the President Pro Tempore and Speaker of the House, and two Governor appointees.

• Requires a quorum of five members to approve task force actions and subjects all meetings to the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act.

• Directs the task force to study policies from other states and submit findings and recommendations to the Governor and legislative leadership.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2013, with an emergency clause declaring immediate necessity for preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
