SB 464 Summary

• Creates the "Department of Transportation Engineers Task Force" operating until December 1, 2014, to study and evaluate the number of engineers employed and retained by the Department of Transportation.

• Task force consists of 10 members including the Secretary of Transportation, representatives from transportation advocacy groups and road/bridge organizations, Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers, and legislative members appointed by Senate and House leadership.

• Requires all appointments to be finalized by July 1, 2013, with legislative members eligible for travel reimbursement and non-legislative state employees reimbursed by their appointing authority.

• Task force must report findings and recommendations to the Governor, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and Oklahoma Transportation Commission by December 1, 2014.

• Declared emergency legislation with immediate effect upon passage and approval.
