Senate Bill 479 Summary

• Directs the Oklahoma Legislature to conduct budget hearings for state agencies that do not receive appropriations from the Legislature.

• Defines "state agencies" to include constitutionally or statutorily created agencies, boards, bureaus, commissions, offices, institutions, authorities, and other administrative divisions of state government that expend, encumber, or handle state funds.

• Explicitly excludes political subdivisions of the state from the definition of "state agencies" subject to budget hearing requirements.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2013.
