SB 547 Summary

• Prohibits health benefit plans from imposing higher copayments or coinsurance for services rendered by licensed chiropractic physicians compared to primary care physicians for the same or similar diagnosed condition.

• Requires copayment and coinsurance amounts for chiropractic services to match those for allopathic or osteopathic primary care physicians, even if different terminology is used to describe the condition.

• Applies to all health benefit plans as defined in Oklahoma law.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2013.
