SB 566 Summary

• Amends 47 O.S. 2011, Section 14-103G to clarify language regarding annual vehicle permits for oversize or overweight loads that cannot be reasonably dismantled.

• Permits issued under Subsection A apply to a specific vehicle and allow transport of loads not exceeding 12 feet in width, 14 feet in height, 110 feet in length, or 120,000 pounds gross weight, with front overhang limited to 25 feet and rear overhang to 30 feet.

• Permits under Subsection B apply to specific motor carriers and may be transferred between vehicles in the same fleet, provided only one vehicle operates at a time and the original certified permit is carried in the vehicle.

• The annual permit fee is $4,000 and is nonrefundable; permits are nontransferable between different permittees and valid for one calendar year.

• Effective November 1, 2013; includes clarifying language that references "this title" instead of "Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes" for vehicle registration requirements.
