Senate Bill 592 Summary

• Permits assisted living centers to opt into an alternative informal dispute resolution panel process offered by the Oklahoma State Department of Health instead of the standard dispute resolution process.

• Requires the State Department of Health to appoint an impartial five-member panel comprised of a licensed assisted living administrator, a health professional working in an assisted living center, two representatives from the aging and disabled community (non-government), and a State Department of Health representative experienced in assisted living surveys.

• Creates new Section 1-895 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes to codify these provisions.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2013.
