Senate Bill 62 Summary

• Creates the State Highway Modification Task Force until December 1, 2014, to study and evaluate State Highway 99 expansion between Stroud and Ada, specifically addressing widening from two lanes to four lanes.

• Task force consists of 12 members including the Secretary of Transportation, governors/chiefs of Chickasaw and Sac and Fox nations, and representatives from counties, municipalities, transportation organizations, and the Oklahoma Trucking Association, plus 2 senators and 2 representatives.

• Requires all appointments to be finalized by July 1, 2013, with legislative and non-legislative members reimbursed for travel expenses according to state law.

• Department of Transportation shall provide administrative support and prepare a final report with findings and recommendations by December 1, 2014, to be submitted to the Governor, legislative leadership, and Oklahoma Transportation Commission.

• Declares an emergency to allow immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
