SB 625 Summary

• Amends 69 O.S. 2011, Section 1705 to modify the authority of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority regarding turnpike construction and operation.

• Modifies the location of a new turnpike bridge crossing the Arkansas River in Tulsa County, changing the description from "in the vicinity of" to "between South Yale Avenue and South Memorial Drive."

• Requires the Oklahoma Transportation Authority to determine that the bridge project will be self-sufficient within a 30-year period based on toll revenue before construction commences.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2013, with an emergency clause declaring immediate necessity for preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
