SB 637 Summary

• Amends 70 O.S. 2011, Section 18-201.1 to modify the weighted membership calculations used for school funding purposes under the State Aid Formula.

• Changes the small school district formula threshold from 529 pupils to 50 pupils, making it applicable to smaller school districts.

• Modifies the district sparsity-isolation formula calculation by multiplying the product of student cost factor and area factor by two (2) before multiplying by average daily membership.

• Effective July 1, 2013, with an emergency declaration due to immediate necessity for preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
