SB 66 Summary

• Amends 68 O.S. 2011, Section 1623 regarding storage, transportation, sale and use of consumer fireworks and novelties in Oklahoma

• Requires fireworks storage and sales areas to display "FIREWORKS - NO SMOKING" signs and mandates compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1124 Chapter 7, 2006 Edition standards for retail sales

• Prohibits mail-order fireworks sales and restricts retail sales to June 15 - July 6 and December 15 - January 2 each year; sales clerks must be present during purchases

• Specifies that the State Fire Marshal is not required to inspect portable retail fireworks stands prior to opening, but allows local governing authorities to conduct inspections

• Declares an emergency effective upon passage and approval
