SB720 Summary

• Amends 63 O.S. 2011, Section 2-301 to clarify language regarding the Director's authority to promulgate rules and regulations for controlled dangerous substances.

• Changes the term "distribution" to "distributing" in the statute relating to registration and control of manufacture, distribution, dispensing, prescribing, administering, or use of controlled dangerous substances.

• Authorizes the Director to promulgate rules for training, certification, and registration of animal control officers to purchase, possess, and administer controlled dangerous substances for animal control purposes.

• Requires the Director to cooperate with federal, state, or local entities with jurisdiction over animal euthanasia when promulgating animal control rules.

• Effective date: November 1, 2013.
