SB 979 Summary

• Oklahoma Compensation and Unclassified Positions Review Board chair must convene the Board by July 15, 2013 to study state employment reforms.

• Study topics include reforms to classified and unclassified employee systems, improvements to state hiring process efficiency, improvements to supervisor and employee accountability, and human resource management reform or consolidation.

• Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (or designee) shall serve as a Board member until study completion.

• Board must adopt and distribute recommendations to the Governor, Senate President Pro Tempore, and House Speaker by December 15, 2013.

• Act is declared an emergency and takes effect immediately upon passage and approval.
