HB 1087 Summary

• Amends 42 O.S. 2011, Sections 141 and 143 to allow mechanics' and materialmen's liens to include applicable profit and overhead costs in the lien amount filed.

• Expands lien rights for contractors, subcontractors, and workers to recover all sums owed including profit and overhead costs when filing liens on property.

• Applies the same profit and overhead cost provisions to subcontractors, artisans, day laborers, and suppliers who furnish material or equipment used on the land.

• Preserves existing 90-day filing deadline for lien claims and maintains protections for property owners regarding their liability to claimants.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2013.
