HB 1314 Summary

• Amends Oklahoma Self-Defense Act training requirements for concealed/unconcealed handgun license applicants and firearms instructors under 21 O.S. 2011, Section 1290.14

• Changes training course fee from a maximum of $60.00 to an amount determined by the instructor conducting the course

• Allows maximum class size to be determined by instructor, with practice shooting sessions limited to no more than ten participating students at one time

• Removes instructor-to-student ratio requirement (previously capped at 10 students per instructor) and transfers maximum class size determination to individual instructors

• Effective November 1, 2013
