HB 1340 Summary

• Amends the definition of "Offender" in the Delayed Sentencing Program for Young Adults under 22 O.S. 2011, Section 996.1

• Expands eligibility to include individuals ages 18-21 or juveniles certified to stand trial as adults convicted of nonviolent felonies

• Adds unlawful manufacturing, attempted unlawful manufacturing, and aggravated manufacturing of controlled dangerous substances and violations of the Trafficking in Illegal Drugs Act to the list of disqualifying offenses

• Adds discharging any firearm or deadly weapon at or into any dwelling as a disqualifying offense for program participation

• Becomes effective November 1, 2013
