HB1379 Summary

• Amends 25 O.S. 2011, Section 307 to expand purposes for which public bodies may hold executive sessions

• Adds six new permitted purposes for executive sessions: self-evaluation and ethics discussions with statewide associations; strategy regarding administrative efficiencies and school consolidation; and matters whose immediate knowledge would adversely affect public entity finances

• Maintains existing permitted purposes including personnel matters, real property discussions, legal advice, student expulsions, and terrorism-related security information

• Retains procedural requirements that executive sessions must be noted on agenda, authorized by majority recorded vote, and any actions taken must be voted on publicly

• Effective date: November 1, 2013
