• Amends 11 O.S. 2011, Section 16-302 relating to the Oklahoma Town Meeting Act to modify population thresholds for municipal election procedures.

• Increases the population requirement for municipalities to be exempt from town meeting elections from 1,000 residents to 2,000 residents according to the latest Federal Decennial Census.

• Allows municipalities with fewer than 2,000 residents that are not governed by charter to adopt an ordinance requiring county election board elections instead of town meetings, with the municipality required to provide a copy to the county election board.

• Permits municipalities to repeal such ordinances and return to town meeting elections, requiring notification to the county election board.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2013.
