HB 1581 Summary

• Authorizes and directs the Oklahoma Health Care Authority to submit a waiver to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for uncompensated care provided by Indian Health Service facilities, tribal health facilities, and Urban Indian Organization health facilities

• Empowers the Authority to take necessary actions, including federal waivers, to fulfill obligations under waiver agreements

• Provides that the waiver and Authority actions constitute state consent to agreements with federally recognized Native American tribes as required by federal or tribal law

• Makes the entire act null and void if the Authority cannot obtain federal financial participation and waiver approval from CMS
