HB 1617 Summary

• Amends 74 O.S. 2011, Section 85.45l to require state agencies to use the Trip Optimizer system for computing cost-effective travel methods when employees travel over 100 miles per day using non-dedicated motor vehicles.

• Provides exemption for field service personnel employed by the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management from Trip Optimizer system requirements.

• Allows state employees using personally owned vehicles to seek reimbursement according to a schedule established by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services rather than using Trip Optimizer results.

• Requires the Trip Optimizer system to account for distance to vehicle pickup locations and long-term state purchasing contract discounts for vehicle rentals in cost calculations.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2013.
