HB 1882 - Space Flight Liability and Immunity Act

• Creates the "Space Flight Liability and Immunity Act" establishing liability limitations for space flight entities operating under Federal Aviation Administration authorization.

• Shields space flight entities from civil liability for participant injuries resulting from inherent risks of space flight activities, provided participants received federal risk disclosures and gave informed consent.

• Liability protections do not apply if space flight entities commit gross negligence with willful or wanton disregard for safety, or intentionally cause participant injury.

• Requires space flight entities to have participants sign a specific warning statement acknowledging risks, informed consent, and liability limitations; failure to comply prevents immunity claims.

• Effective date: November 1, 2013.
