HB 2170 Summary

• Amends 21 O.S. 2011, Section 1272 regarding unlawful carry of weapons in Oklahoma

• Removes "spring-type knife" from the list of prohibited weapons that cannot be carried on or about a person

• Maintains prohibitions on pistols, revolvers, shotguns, rifles, daggers, bowie knives, dirk knives, switchblade knives, and other offensive weapons

• Preserves existing exceptions for hunting, fishing, educational purposes, peace officers, authorized personnel, judges with valid handgun licenses, and living history reenactments

• Effective date: November 1, 2013
