HB 2322 Summary

• Amends 21 O.S. 2011, Section 1442 relating to burglary statutes to include gender-neutral language (changing "his" to "or her")

• Expands the definition of prohibited burglary tools to include any two-way communication device capable of transmitting and receiving wireless voice transmission, such as portable handheld two-way radios

• Maintains the requirement that a person with a prior burglary conviction possessing three or more of the listed tools with intent to use them in committing a crime is guilty of a felony

• Reorganizes the list of prohibited tools into a numbered format (sledge hammer, pry bar, punches, chisel, bolt cutters, and communication devices)

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014
