HB2330 Summary

• Amends 21 O.S. 2011, Sections 1212 and 1213 to modify crimes related to unlawful removal of objects at disaster areas.

• Section 1212 clarifies that it is unlawful to take or remove "anything of value" from a disaster area, expanding the scope beyond just material objects and equipment.

• Section 1213 establishes that violating Section 1209 et seq. is a misdemeanor, with violators subject to fines up to $3,000 or imprisonment up to one year, or both.

• Adds a new felony provision for violations of Section 1212 where property value exceeds $500, punishable by 1-5 years imprisonment in the Department of Corrections and/or fines of at least $3,000.

• Effective date: November 1, 2014.
