HB 2387 Summary

• Amends 47 O.S. 2011, Section 6-106 regarding driver license and identification card applications to allow valid unexpired Oklahoma driver licenses to serve as both primary and secondary proof of identity for identification card issuance.

• Exempts applicants with valid unexpired Oklahoma driver licenses from the standard requirement to provide both primary and secondary proofs of identity when applying for an identification card.

• Exempts applicants using valid unexpired Oklahoma driver licenses from provisions of 21 O.S. Section 1550.42, subsection B regarding certain issuance requirements.

• Requires the Department of Public Safety to promulgate rules necessary to implement and administer the provisions allowing driver licenses to substitute for identity proofs.

• Effective date: November 1, 2014.
