• Initiative focuses on areas including conventional and unconventional oil and gas development, CO2 enhanced oil recovery, wind forecasting, biofuels, energy storage, and renewable energy integration

• Initiative coordinates between state and federal agencies, higher education institutions, nonprofit research organizations, and private entities to foster collaboration and prevent duplication of research efforts

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014
