HB 2444 Summary

• Amends Section 2, Chapter 134, O.S.L. 2013 (19 O.S. Supp. 2013, Section 1302) to expand wellness program authority to include city-county health departments, not just counties.

• Permits counties or city-county health departments to establish a Wellness Council to develop wellness programs for employees with participation available to all full-time employees.

• Allows counties or city-county health departments to establish a separate "Wellness Program Fund" to receive general county funds, grants, donations, and gifts from public or private sources for wellness incentives and operational costs.

• Requires the Wellness Council to track participant numbers, insurance premium costs, and fund expenditures on an annual basis and report findings to the board of county commissioners or city-county board of health in January, in compliance with all privacy laws.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
