HB2460 Summary

• Courts must automatically expunge all law enforcement and court records for convictions of nonviolent felonies or misdemeanors under specified conditions.

• Expungement requires: person convicted of qualifying nonviolent offense per Oklahoma statute 57-571, no subsequent convictions, no pending charges, and at least 5 years since conviction.

• Expunged records remain sealed from public access but remain available to law enforcement agencies for law enforcement purposes.

• Legislation becomes effective November 1, 2014.
