HB2471 Summary

• Establishes an eight (8) year term limit for district attorneys elected after November 1, 2014

• Years served need not be consecutive or in the same district; partial terms from appointments to fill vacancies do not count toward the limit

• District attorneys in office on November 1, 2014 are grandfathered in and may complete their current term plus serve an additional eight (8) years

• No person who has completed eight years in office may thereafter serve a partial term

• Effective date: November 1, 2014
