HB 2475 Summary

• Expands the Board on Judicial Compensation's authority to review and set compensation for state officials in addition to judicial salaries, including the Governor, Attorney General, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Lieutenant Governor, Corporation Commissioners, State Treasurer, State Auditor and Inspector, and State Insurance Commissioner.

• Establishes salary relationships where state officials' compensation equals that of specific judicial positions (e.g., Governor equals Chief Justice salary, Attorney General equals Presiding Judge of Court of Civil Appeals).

• Places a salary cap freezing all state official compensation at November 1, 2014 levels, prohibiting increases unless the Board on Judicial Compensation specifically approves them.

• Amends 20 O.S. 2011, Section 3.4 and 74 O.S. 2011, Section 250.4 to implement these changes.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
