HB 2499 Summary

• Amends 70 O.S. 2011, Section 5-135 to modify the accounting system for Oklahoma school districts

• Deletes the requirement that warrants or checks issued by school districts must state "whether it is payable or nonpayable" on their face

• Maintains all other accounting requirements including purchase orders, encumbrance procedures, invoice documentation, and warrant/check registration procedures

• Becomes effective July 1, 2014, with an emergency clause for immediate effect upon passage and approval
