HB 2530 Summary

• Amends Section 60.20 of Oklahoma Statutes to require annual domestic violence training for judges to include education on the impact of domestic-violence-related trauma and victimization

• Expands mandatory domestic violence training requirements to district attorneys, public defenders, and attorneys employed by or under contract with the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System whose duties include handling domestic violence cases

• Requires the training for attorneys handling domestic violence cases to include education regarding the impact of domestic-violence-related trauma and victimization

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014
