HB 2610 Summary

• Amends 47 O.S. 2011, Section 11-801 relating to maximum and minimum speed limits for motor vehicles on Oklahoma highways

• Increases speed limit to 75 miles per hour on turnpike system and rural segments of interstate highway system (previously 70 mph on four-lane divided highways)

• Restructures speed limit categories by removing the 70 mph designation for four-lane divided highways and consolidating speed limit provisions

• Maintains existing speed limits of 65 mph for other locations and special limits for school buses, school zones, state parks, and wildlife refuges

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014
