HB2687 Summary

• Amends 18 O.S. 2011, Section 601 to update references to replace "State Highway Commission" with "State Highway Transportation Commission"

• Expands right-of-way authority for telegraph and telephone line operators to use lands, real property, public grounds, streets, alleys, and highways in Oklahoma

• Maintains existing restrictions allowing the State Highway Transportation Commission discretion to prevent installation on the State Highway System and Interstate and Defense Highways, or to permit installation under reasonable regulations

• Preserves the right of telephone and telegraph companies to cross Interstate and Defense Highways and build lines (aerial or underground) along highway extensions in urban areas per federal regulations

• Effective date: November 1, 2014
