HB 2747 Summary

• Transfers all functions of the Driver License Services Division related to commercial driver credentialing, qualification, and truck driver training institution licensing from the Department of Public Safety to the Oklahoma Tax Commission, effective January 1, 2015.

• Establishes the Commissioner of Public Safety and Executive Director of the Oklahoma Tax Commission as transition coordinators responsible for creating and managing a transition team to oversee the transfer.

• Requires the transition team to coordinate the orderly transfer of duties, personnel, property, funds, and financial obligations relating to commercial driver licensing between the two agencies.

• Mandates the transition team to develop an organizational framework within the Tax Commission, establish an employee transfer plan with position details, and take necessary actions to ensure smooth transition of functions.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2014.
